ARCO 08 – 80 Galleries from 12 Countries in 1 City – Madrid

Keeping to the art-theme of last week’s blog, I come bearing more. What is it about Europe that resonates sophistication and culture? I never understood it. Regardless, even more art will be voyaging from 12 other countries—Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Cuba, France, Germany, Korea, Nederlands, Portugal, Slovenia, and, finally, the United States—as 80 galleries, and will comprised this year’s Art Madrid, aptly titled ARCO 08. Catchy, huh?

There will be pieces on display from such boldnamers as:

Warhol

Barcelo

Carmen Calvo

Last year’s ARCO witnessed a spectacular turnout and, in turn, this year’s will populate 4500 square meters of exhibition space—a 20% hike from last year.

On a somewhat-similar note, 4 paintings—a Cezanne, a Van Goh, a Monet, and a Degas—were stolen, Sunday, from a Swiss Museum….
